AKIN RELEASES LETTER TO PRESIDENT:


Requests Immediate Disaster Relief for Flood-affected Areas of Missouri


Washington, DC – Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO), today released a letter written to President Bush. Akin requested that the President promptly grant Missouri Governor Matt Blunt’s request to declare an expedited major disaster for Lincoln and St. Charles counties. Blunt’s request follows severe storm systems that have generated record rainfall, flooded the Mississippi River and caused flash flooding across the state of Missouri.
