CONGRESSMAN AKIN STATEMENT ON SENATOR BOND’S ANNOUNCEMENT HE WILL NOT SEEK REELECTION

 

"Missourians will never find a greater advocate"

Washington, DC – Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO), released the following statement regarding Senator Bond’s decision not to seek reelection:

"Although I respect Senator Bond’s decision to retire from the Senate, I am saddened that Missouri will be loosing a Senator with great legislative skill, tremendous principle driven leadership and commitment to his home state.

"From issues of consumer protection such as lead abatement, to fierce advocacy for Missouri jobs, Senator Bond led the way. There was no issue important to our State that Senator Bond did not do heavy lifting on.

"I am certain that Missourians will never find a greater advocate in the United States Senate."
